This dam marks the boundary between the western, Environment Agency (BCU accepted) section and the western Shepway district council (seperate Shepway licence) section

Shepway licence info here,

http://www.shepway.gov.uk/content/view/741/69/

Or you can join http://seapointcanoeandkayakcentre.co.uk/ membership + permit for military canal from Seabrook to West Hythe.
But i went this part of mil canal maybe 15-20x and never ever anybody ask me for licence.
Last section going west towards the dam from Hythe is signposted 'Private, members only' west of road bridge from Lympne Hill. Alternative put in east of the bridge on south bank with disabled parking. This gives access to Shepway controlled section all the way to Seabrook.

A low grassy bank next to the public footpath. ample parking on gravel verge.

July 2014 - came here and its a great spot which is easy to park and launch from. Middle of no-where and between the lilies was a track I could paddle down to West Hythe. Great afternoons afternoons out and return paddle.http://youtu.be/lO_4JYavNPU
Paddled the other way this time from Bonnington towards Ham Street. See video

A rough concrete put in with ample parking either side of the bridge.

Tried here in July but clogged with lilies so moved onto Bonnington which was great. When the lilies are not growing fast this is a good launch point. Regards Peter
Came here but solid with weeds & lilies so pick the time of year you come here - have a look at the first part of video which shows this launch site before I moved on to Bonnington http://youtu.be/lO_4JYavNPU
