Paddle Point

A large canal basin with a pay and display car park without height barrrier, a pub - the Telford Inn and a canal center Gift shop. Paddling upstream ( the canal has a slight current) brings you to Horseshoe falls, where the Llangollen canal takes its water from. Paddling downstream takes you across the 126ft high Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

Paddle Point

Where the Llangollen Canal crosses the River Dee.

Completed in 1805, it is the longest and highest aqueduct in Britain, a Grade I Listed Building and a World Heritage Site.

Very narrow - no room to pass narrow boats coming the other way.
