Canoeing and Kayaking on : Loch Lubnaig

On the eastern fringes of the Trossachs, Loch Lubnaig is a great place to go canoeing, as its a beautiful loch with easy access from the road along its eastern side.

Unusually for the higlands, Loch Lubnaig runs north to south, and can therefore be more sheltered when winds are blowing along the usual west-east running lochs.

The only downside to canoeing on Loch Lubnaig is the noise from the main road nearby, and the popularity of the south east corner on summer days. You soon forget the noise when you're away from this part, floating beneath the steep hillsides and enjoying the views across the sparkling water.
