Canoeing and Kayaking on : Loch Veyatie

Paddle Point

Access to Loch Veyatie from the small fish hatchery near the Abhainn Mhor river.

Note, whilst sometimes the gate to the track is open, there is no definite public vehicle access, and the gate may get locked, so cars should be left by the road.

Sign on the gate now says "No Unauthorised Vehicles", though gate is unlocked. The owner is the Ledmore Estate, who could be contacted in advance, though have turned down car access in the past.
Thanks to Chris posting on Song of the Paddle

"Heading North, next left (50 yds?) after the fish farm track is the ELKAL Community Centre. There is a small car park serving the hall (the old Primary School) where you could park up. I inquired about its use and got a positive reply back from Andy Venters, chair of the association.

"People are welcome to use the hall carpark free of charge for few days, but donations to the hall are always welcome! They need to check with Me on elkal(at)hotmail.co.uk or andy.v(at)live.co.uk or 07752274993 or Wendy Wright on wendy.wright(at)live.co.uk or 01854666336 to see if anything booked that would need the whole carpark"

During the Summer there is a local Market on Wednesdays and a craft group on Thursdays, in the winter the craft group meets on Wednesdays so probably best avoided. For more on ELKAL go to http://www.elkcal.co.uk/. That would probably be as close as you can reasonably get to the fish farm track so I hope it helps with your planning."
