Canoeing and Kayaking on : Lough Derg

Paddle Point

Gravel beach, passive-aggressive swans, and a slipway with one open side so you can easily launch off it. Loads of parking but gets busy on summer weekends. Usually sheltered, but can be a big swell here when wind is in the northeast.

Paddle Point

Not sure what this is called but the sign off the R352 Scarriff-Mountshannon road says FISHING so let's go with that ... two low and well-sheltered jetties in shallow water.

Paddle Point

Nice harbour used by cruisers with parking and nice walk into the demesene. Easy launch in sheltered area, check out the swell first if you are heading south. Pubs and restuaurants in walking distance in Portuman if you are passing through.

Beautiful , beautiful harbour with great pub. Slipway or harbour to launch. Parking but often full in summer. Some islands to explore if you are day tripping, good stop off for longer trips. Heading south into the shannon a good option
