Rivers
Canoeing and Kayaking on : River Lyon

Paddle Point

The start of the 'touring' section - all grade 2 below, can be tree lined at points, can get pushy in high water. Nice easy start to get warmed up on. One ledge to be careful of, just after pylons cross the river.
Careful parking a few hundred meters either direction from the bridge - but only for a vehicle at a time.

Paddle Point

Parking for 20+ cars, village shop and cafe (please support by visiting them).
Access is using the cafe front lawn into large pool below the grade 4 under the bridge.

Paddle Point

Grade 4, has been run in open canoe.

One awkward ledge. Can be portaged river right, through Meggernie Scout centres low ropes course.
Gets exciting in higher water, threading the needle in lower water.
Easy, usually flat to grade 1 after this with a couple of narrow wooded sections. Lovely day out
