Oxford Canal
General Information
The Oxford Canal is a 78 mile long canal which links the River Thames at Oxford to the Grand Union and Coventry Canals in the Midlands.

This is one of the most scenic canals in England, and makes a lovely rural place to go canoeing.

The canal is covered by the British Waterways licence, which is included as part of the BCU/Canoe England membership.

British Waterways are happy for canoeists to camp at the rural locks and alongside towpaths, as long as they are not blocked. Basically it is treated in the same way as mooring.
